Creating a New Future

I have just participated in one of the most planet and life altering communication courses this weekend and would love to share with you what I can now see is possible in the world.

I request you read this from the point of view that I am sharing my heart fully, and the world I am sharing is a world that I am playing to create for the next generations that inhabit the planet. This is not a small game, and I need you behind me to be able to play full out and be unstoppable in creating this world.

So let me tell you about the weekend. It was an advanced communication course, and through several exercises, conversations and activities I became present to several things that have stopped me in my communication with people. Sounds pretty obvious right; in a communication course discovering what gets in the way of communication? Well, yes, but it is the discovering WHAT got in the way that the surprised me. See, I always thought I was pretty good at communicating, in fact you might be reading this thinking ‘Paula? never shuts up!”. But that was just talking. My communication was something different.

When I was 3 some people around me were having an argument, and I discovered that in that moment I decided the world wasn’t safe. At that moment for that 3yr old me, it probably wasn’t. It was a decision based on survival, perfectly valid and justified, and it worked; I survived. However, so did the decision, and I have been living my whole life since built on the decision a 3year old made called “the world is not safe”. Dumb right?!

That 3yr old has been everywhere with me for the last 27 years telling me how unsafe the world is. Now, spoken like this it seems ludicrous to pay any attention to the opinion of a three year old, and at 30 I have a whole range of tools and skills at my disposal so that what was unsafe to a three year old is not unsafe to me. But that’s not how I’ve been living.

I’ve been living as though people are out to get me and have to be avoided, or alternatively, survived. So I avoid them first. Social gatherings, coffees, catch-ups are all threatening situations to be survived. If the world isn’t safe then by default people are dangerous.

I had constructed my world and circumstances to support a conversation with myself about the world not being safe and it was draining me of my power, my experience of freedom and full self-expression. Like holding my hand over eyes and crying out that I was blind.

It makes for a very lonely and separate life, where my experience of love, affinity, and intimacy is limited. I also experience a drop in my vitality as I am working so hard to stay safe and be liked, there isn’t any authentic communication occurring. Exhausting!

I think you get the idea. But here’s what I really want to share. Once I saw over the weekend that my whole world was viewed through a filter of being unsafe, I was able to remove the filter and a new future became possible for me that wasn’t restricted by the thoughts of a 3year old.

Through participating in this communication course I am now able to envision a future for myself that leaves me inspired, lit up and passionate, fulfilling on a vision I now have for the world, and that vision is what I want to share with you.

I see a world where people are passionate about their jobs. They are excited about sharing themselves and their skills and their love with and for each other. When something is important to them they know themselves to be unstoppable in being The One to make a difference in that area. They experience love and affinity with those around them in their lives and are committed to having a world that works for everybody.

I see a world where children are treasured and respected as the future leaders on the planet. Where they are safe and protected by whole communities and feel intrinsically valued for their contribution to families and society. A world where they have freedom to be fully self-expressed without retribution and where educational systems are created to work for the children of tomorrow rather than those of 150 years ago, and where children are excited about learning and training and developing themselves.

I see a world where teenagers and young people feel so supported and valued and wanted that taking there own lives is never an option, and fades into history as ‘something that was once done’. Where they experience being partnered in having their lives work, and really get that they are the most extraordinary, powerful, human beings with a lifetime of greatness to offer the planet.

I see a world for families to be able to be free to nurture each other, and create new futures and pathways for each of the family members. A world where family is revered as one of the building block of society and society is designed and focused on having families work and stay together.

I see a world where towns and cities are powerful in working and partnering with the families and individuals inhabiting them in providing access to facilities and resources. Where they are responsible for their locations and needs and manage to provide the basic rights and needs to their populations.

I see a world where countries work in partnership with each other in protecting our environment. Where they share resources sustainably ensuring everyone is taken care of, and have what they need in order to be happy and thrive in life. Where our animals are protected and we live in partnership and protection with nature, rather dominating and destroying.

I see a world without hunger, pain, wars, torture, child exploitation and disease. Through communication I see it is possible that these issues and causes of suffering in the world are able to be ended. Once and for all. FOREVER.

I see a world that works. For Everyone.

If you are interested in this world, a world full of individuals committed to making it work, a world that is a creation we can be proud to pass-on to our children, if you can hear an expression of an area that you are passionate about in my sharing, if you can see areas of your life that could use more power, freedom or self-expression, then I invite you to join me on Tuesday night at a free, obligation free introduction to the Landmark Forum; the foundation course of the company who ran my Advanced Communication Course and the foundation stone of creating something great. It starts at 7pm and is being held at Technology Park in Bentley in Perth. Please RSVP by 5pm Tuesday (Perth AU Time) by return email.

If you are not in Perth I invite you to shift whatever you need to in order to be here, and if that is genuinely not an option then please find a Landmark centre near you, be in communication with them and go to an Advanced communication course evening session closer to your location.

This future is available now, and I invite you to partner me to create it for our children.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to share in my new future,

p.s please forward this, share the link, email etc to any of your friends and family that would like to play this game or would simply value experiencing power, freedom, and self expression.

I'm a 36 year old Australian who, in the last 8 years, has been coming to terms with the fact that I am Gifted, and exactly what this means. Contrary to very popular belief about gifted people, this does not mean I have my life sorted, in fact, quite the opposite. This blog is about the highs and lows that I experience in my journey as I discover what being gifted means to me. I believe in love, romance, happy endings and silver linings. I believe we are never given more than we can handle, and everyone has a story if you just take the time to listen. I believe there are no coincidences and we can define ourselves by the people in our lives. I love my family, they are, and always will be, priority number one. Studying at uni, completing a Masters Degree in Gifted Education, with the view of setting up a foundation advocating for children on a global level. "Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own." -- Nikos Kazantzakis
